Auburn preps for new-arena opening

Another new arena will be making its debut, as Auburn University prepares ceremonies and an appearance by the Harlem Globetrotters to mark the opening of Auburn Arena.

The first real game doesn't come until Nov. 12, so tonight will be more of a party than anything else. But it sounds like all systems are go: a ribbon-cutting ceremony begins at 3 p.m. The Auburn Athletics Department will then celebrate the official opening of the $86 million Auburn Arena with a basketball celebration highlighting the men's and women's basketball teams.
