Concrete floor poured at new Duluth arena

Amsoil ArenaA milestone of sorts was reached yesterday at Duluth’s Amsoil Arena: the concrete floor, requiring 32 loads and 615 tons of concrete to cover 60,000 feet of coolant, was poured.

All went smoothly. The new arena, set to open this December as the University of Minnesota-Duluth hockey teams, will be a little quiet in the near future, at least as far as floor activity is concerned: the concrete floor must now cure for 22 days, and it will be a week after that before anyone can walk on it.
