A Bangor (Me.) legislator wants to see the state kick in $25 million toward a new Bangor arena, but the state probably won't take up the proposal for several months, if at all.
Sen. Joseph Perry, a Democrat from Bangor, has introducted a bill authorizing state funds for a multiuse arena. The rationale for the state support: the arena will benefit the entire region, not just Bangor, so the state should kick in.
Perry admits getting state funding is a long shot, though local officials have identified some local sources of funding should state money come through.
